Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)
We are seeking a mid-level Structural Analysis Engineer to support our Interiors Stress organization. This is a non-managerial role in which you will perform stress and structural analysis on aircraft interior components, support design and certification, and partner with engineering teams to resolve structural issues. You will be an active leader in a growing organization, providing mentorship and training to developing team members.
- Perform stress and structural analysis on aircraft interior components and structures using classical hand analysis, Finite Element tools, and Dynamic Simulation methods.
- Support design, certification, and production activities for interior commodities.
- Partner with engineering teams to resolve structural issues and guide product design to verify structural integrity.
- Evaluate interior structures for compliance, safety, and performance.
- Lead the development of test plans, support test execution, and analyze results to validate that systems meet specifications.
- Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish system designs.
- Develop analytical processes and tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Define and document certification and test results for regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with and perform oversight on projects with domestic or international partners/suppliers.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences.
Experience: 5 to 10 years of related engineering experience, including experience in structural analysis and supporting aircraft or other complex structures.
Technical Skills: Experience with structural analysis and Buyer-Furnished and Supplier-Furnished Equipment is necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
- Experience with aircraft interiors or structures.
- Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Experience leading the development of certification-related documentation.
- Experience leading and/or providing oversight of structural test programs.
- Experience leading supplier technical oversight.
