Sr Collaboration Platform Designer

Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite)

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Collaboration Platform Designer with strong, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration and Power Platform solutions at enterprise scale. This role supports production SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform environments and participates in collaboration platform modernization and migration initiatives. This position prioritizes real-world, operational experience, and demonstrated hands-on expertise is highly valued.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft 365 Groups.
  • Manage site collections, Teams, channels, permissions, and sharing using least-privilege principles.
  • Configure and maintain collaboration governance, including external sharing, retention, sensitivity labels, and lifecycle policies.
  • Design, build, and maintain business solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Support collaboration platform migration initiatives, including on-premises SharePoint to SharePoint Online and tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Integrate Microsoft 365 collaboration services with enterprise systems such as identity platforms and line-of-business applications.
  • Support solutions deployed on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and the Power Platform, assisting business teams with provisioning, deployment, and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and manage problem resolution to meet service level agreements.
Required Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting SharePoint and other collaboration platforms in production environments.
  • Proven experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration services (SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive).
  • Hands-on experience with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Experience supporting migrations, such as on-premise SharePoint to SharePoint Online.
  • Experience with problem management, quality assurance, and SLA analysis.
  • Basic working experience with Google Workspace (GWS) collaboration tools.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell for SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the Power Platform at scale (model-driven apps, Dataverse, solution/ALM management).
  • Experience with workflow and forms automation using Power Automate at an enterprise scale.
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph, Azure, and custom app integration with Teams/SharePoint.
  • Experience supporting enterprise identity integrations (Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, SSO).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and information-governance best practices.
  • Microsoft certifications are considered a plus but are not required.
