Job Description:
Location: Ft Meade, Maryland (Onsite)
We are seeking a Cyber Security Watch Officer for a weekend night shift position. The selected candidate will execute real-time synchronization of enterprise operational actions, maintain knowledge management for situational awareness of cyberspace operations, and track cyber operations forces. This role involves analyzing operational reporting and managing centralized communications to ensure unity of effort across all operational areas.
- Execute continuous network monitoring and incident/problem resolution.
- Monitor SIEM tools for alerts and review alerts from IDS/IPS and firewalls.
- Perform troubleshooting to mitigate risks and document incidents.
- Leverage intelligence and operational data to identify threats and improve security.
- Triage events and incidents, and develop specific trends.
- Provide situational understanding of the assigned operational environment.
- Support the development, coordination, and release of orders.
- Provide threat analysis and track relevant prioritized incidents.
Education and Experience:
Applicants must be able to obtain/maintain a DOD Top Secret SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience
- Associate's degree with 6+ years of experience
- No degree with 8+ years of experience
- Master's degree with 2+ years of experience
Technical Skills:
- IAT Level II or Level III certification (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CySA+, CND, CISSP, CASP+ CE).
- Experience with SIEM tools such as ArcSight, Splunk, or Wireshark.
- Knowledge of network and application protocols, cyber vulnerabilities, and exploitation techniques.
- Familiarity with cyber threat methodologies (TTPs).
- Experience with DISA and other government networks.
- Knowledge of the government orders process.
- Demonstrated experience briefing senior leadership.
- Experience in building extended cyber security analytics.
- Experience in intelligence-driven defense or cyber Kill Chain methodology.
