Job Title: Sourcing Consultant 2 – Contingent (Event Sourcing Consultant)

Location: Charlotte, NC / West Des Moines, IA / Minneapolis, MN (Dallas, TX considered for exceptional candidates)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Minimum 4 Days Onsite Required)

Contract Length: 6mo (Extension Possible, Conversion Possible)

Pay Rate: $41 - $43

Top Requirements
  1. 3+ years of corporate meeting and event sourcing, hospitality, hotel sales, catering, or convention services experience
  2. Hands-on experience with Cvent Supplier Network and venue sourcing/RFP management
  3. Experience negotiating hotel, meeting, and event supplier contracts
  4. Ability to manage multiple sourcing engagements simultaneously
  5. Strong stakeholder communication and relationship management skills
Plusses
  • Financial Services or other highly regulated industry experience
  • Enterprise procurement, contracting, or third-party risk management experience
  • Supplier relationship management experience
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or related certification
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve productivity
Job Summary

In this contingent resource assignment, you will participate in low to moderately complex sourcing initiatives supporting corporate meeting and event programs. The Event Sourcing Consultant will manage venue sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract administration, and event-related procurement activities while ensuring compliance with sourcing policies, risk requirements, and operational standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hospitality industry experience and the ability to independently manage sourcing projects while providing excellent service to both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Conduct venue sourcing for meetings, conferences, training sessions, and corporate events
  • Use Cvent Supplier Network to identify, evaluate, and recommend venue options
  • Create, manage, and distribute RFPs through Cvent
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate commercial terms
  • Review and negotiate hotel and event contracts, including:
    • Rates
    • Concessions
    • Attrition clauses
    • Cancellation provisions
  • Manage multiple concurrent sourcing assignments
  • Coordinate with internal business partners to understand event requirements
  • Communicate with hotels, venues, restaurants, and event suppliers
  • Upload and maintain contracts and supporting documentation in DocuSign, Ariba, and related systems
  • Prepare sourcing summaries, bid comparisons, and supplier recommendations
  • Ensure sourcing activities comply with internal procurement, risk, and compliance requirements
