Everforth Apex is excited to announce our Grants for Good 2024 Q4 winner, the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA).

Each quarter, Everforth Apex' Grants for Good program awards a nonprofit organization a $1,250 grant to support their impactful work. We are excited to announce this quarter’s recipient - the U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA). This significant contribution will help them continue their mission in making golf accessible and enjoyable for individuals with disabilities.

The Awarded Organization

The U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to fostering inclusivity through adaptive golf. Founded in 2014, USAGA offers evidence-based, practical golf training to people of all disability types. With over 50 member organizations nationwide, they serve a substantial community of 40,000 individuals annually, of which 26% are combat-wounded veterans. Their programs have made a significant impact in physical rehabilitation, mental well-being, and social integration for children with special needs, particularly in the Chicago metro area where more than 4,600 lessons were provided at no cost in 2024.

“The USAGA brings together adaptive golf organizations from around the country in our golf alliance. Together with our member organizations, we are bringing inclusion to those with disabilities through the game of golf.” - USAGA

Who Nominated Them and How They Are Involved

The nomination for USAGA was submitted by Bill Edelstein, an active volunteer and advocate for adaptive sports. Over the past three years, Bill has played a pivotal role in supporting the USAGA through dedicated grant writing and fundraising, inspired by witnessing the profound transformations adaptive golf brings to individuals with disabilities. "The USAGA's work with students who have special needs covers a broad spectrum, from physical and cognitive challenges to psychological and social hurdles,” said Bill.  “USAGA clinics do much more than teach golf; they nurture vital life skills, helping these children to develop not just strength, endurance, and stamina, but also building their self-esteem and confidence in all walks of life."

How Contributions and Volunteerism Make an Impact

In the face of financial and operational challenges typical for nonprofits, donations and volunteer support are critical. The $1,250 grant from Everforth Apex will directly fund stipends for adaptive golf coaches. This funding is essential in scaling their efforts to provide more inclusive golf clinics and on-course experiences for individuals with special needs.

USAGA's programs are structured around three pillars:

Teach: Training adaptive golf coaches to expand outreach.

Play: Offering diverse golfing opportunities like the S.N.A.G. (Starting New at Golf) clinics and on-course experiences.

Compete: Organizing golf tournaments to showcase the skills of participants under USAGA Rankings & Standards (USAGR™).
