A Fortune 500 federal integrator rapidly expands its field services team with cleared resources.

SITUATION

Our client needed a partner to help them support day-to-day operations and sustainment of program networks for a large-scale global telecommunications contract. The primary initiative was to provide cleared telecommunications and network consultants who could help carry out operational needs in support of disaster relief. The team would be responsible for ensuring assistance for program networks in times of crisis and regional conflicts, all while simultaneously executing ongoing preventative initiatives. Apex was selected to partner with this integrator because of our demonstrated ability to deliver high volumes of resources and our customized service offerings.

SOLUTION

We implemented a robust workforce management program that enabled the rapid, cost-effective deployment of personnel required by our client’s contract. Our field services team managed resource delivery at multiple federal sites across the country, working through the processes required to ensure consultants met compliance requirements. Components of our solution included:

Expanded team of cleared resources by 200%

  • Replicable recruiting, delivery, and onboarding strategies to ensure resources were compliant with our client’s requirements
  • Program reporting on consultant metrics to ensure maintenance of staffing levels
  • Financial reporting that provided visibility into spend and enabled effective program funding

RESULT

As a result of our custom solution, our field services team was able to rapidly expand the size of the client’s original group by 200% with unplanned attrition remaining below 5%. The team increased from 27 to 85 networking and telecommunications personnel, resulting in steady hiring levels and developing a healthy pipeline of candidates processing for clearances that our client could tap into on demand. In addition to stabilizing daily operations and crisis response, the team helped our client execute a seamless data center facilities relocation across the country.
