SITUATION

Our client faced challenges with their Tableau reporting mechanism, combining excessive licensing costs and prolonged report generation with an extensive data-gathering process. Due to the lack of automation in Tableau, the process of creating reports required hands-on observation of the factory machinery and manual data transfer to prepare for effective analysis and use. This manual process, coupled with a lack of standardization across reports, highlighted significant inefficiencies in their operation. They needed to transition from Tableau to Power BI to improve data analysis and reporting efficiency. To address these challenges a team from Everforth Apex was engaged to modernize and migrate the client's reporting infrastructure. ​

Everforth Apex began our migration approach by setting up a robust Power BI environment and creating a seamless gateway for data interaction between the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system and Power BI. This strategic pivot was not just a technical transition but a reinvention of our client's data visualization and analysis processes. Our responsibility ranged from facilitating the engagement kickoff to managing the application's performance, ensuring meticulous oversight over project deliverables, and fostering a collaborative environment for all stakeholders. We proactively engaged with numerous stakeholders on behalf of our client, organizing regular meetings and ensuring consistent updates to maintain clear lines of communication.​

Through strategic planning, expert execution, and continuous engagement, Everforth Apex delivered a comprehensive solution that not only addressed the immediate challenges of saving time and money but also offered sustainable improvement in data management and report generation. With the migration to Power BI we were able to significantly improve efficiency by replacing lengthy manual reporting processes with 30 automated reports. The combination of our efforts resulted in a significant enhancement in report standardization, aesthetics, and user empowerment. The Everforth Apex team’s solution also enabled the integration of critical alerts for system breakdowns, elevating operational reliability. Finally, the transition empowered users to refine and customize reports, significantly improving their analytical capabilities and enabling them to access essential information for informed decision-making.
