We are seeking a Software Developer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong development background, preferably in .NET. This role involves working on high-volume, high-traffic websites and systems. The position requires a blend of development and operations, focusing on modernizing legacy applications, improving system reliability, and handling production incidents. The ideal candidate will be a T-shaped individual with deep technical skills in one area and a broad understanding of operations and DevOps tooling.
- Serve as an embedded member of a scrum team, dedicating at least 50% of time to development efforts and the remainder to operational tasks.
- Diagnose, triage, and resolve production issues, acting as a key resource for critical incidents.
- Focus development efforts on improving observability, dashboarding, performance, and other site reliability concerns.
- Lead day-of-deployment monitoring activities and participate in Go/No-Go decisions.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Work on modernizing legacy applications by implementing .NET framework and architecture.
- Engage in knowledge sharing and coordinate knowledge transfer sessions with the team.
Experience: 5+ years of total development experience, with at least 2-3 years of recent .NET development experience. Experience working as a developer who has transitioned into a Cloud or DevOps Engineer role is valued. Experience with production support is required.
Technical Skills: Candidates must have expertise in at least one of the following areas in addition to development:
- Cloud Platforms (AWS preferred, other cloud experience is acceptable).
- Networking.
- Automation tools (such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins).
- Performance Engineering.
- APM tools (such as Dynatrace, New Relic, Sumo Logic).
- Kubernetes experience is beneficial.
- Experience with Dynatrace or New Relic, including installing and monitoring production tools.
- Proficiency with Splunk.
- Experience with high-traffic back-end APIs.
- Experience managing and configuring API Gateways.
- This role is 100% remote.
- The SRE will be part of an on-call rotation, expected to be on call one week out of every four or five.
- The position involves collaboration and communication with management and various teams.
