Contract Duration: 12 Months

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager & Business Case Writer to support the planning, justification, and delivery of enterprise‑level IT infrastructure initiatives. This role combines business case development with hands‑on project leadership, supporting both funding decisions and successful execution of critical infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate is someone who can translate complex technical initiatives into clear, executive‑ready business cases while confidently managing infrastructure projects from planning through delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Business Case & Documentation
  • Lead the development of clear, evidence‑based business cases and project charters for infrastructure initiatives
  • Translate complex technical concepts into plain‑language documentation for executive and governance audiences
  • Collaborate with technical, architecture, operations, and finance teams to build strong investment rationales
  • Present business cases, recommendations, and options to senior leadership and governance committees
Project Management & Delivery
  • Manage infrastructure projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning to delivery
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones
  • Lead governance processes and support decision‑making at the executive level
  • Communicate project status clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Infrastructure Scope

Projects may include enterprise infrastructure refreshes or implementations involving:

  • Network and security technologies (switches, firewalls, load balancers)
  • Backup and storage systems (SAN)
  • Data centre, power, cooling, and UPS infrastructure
  • Voice, remote access, and managed services environments
Stakeholder, Vendor & Financial Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical teams, leadership, and vendors
  • Support procurement activities and financial tracking
  • Monitor changes to scope, budget, or schedules and escalate when required
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all business case documentation
Required Experience & Skills

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise IT infrastructure projects
  • 5–6+ years of experience developing business cases, funding proposals, and project charters
  • Experience working in large, complex, or highly regulated environments
  • Experience delivering changes to live, mission‑critical systems

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to present complex information clearly to executive audiences
  • Proven stakeholder and vendor management skills
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently

Tools & Methodologies

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
  • Solid understanding of project management frameworks and delivery methodologies
Certifications
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent (required)
  • ITIL certification considered an asset
