Job Title: Cell Tracking Analyst

Contract Duration: 5-months (possible extension)

Hours: 25-30 hours of work minimum, up to 40 hours.

Location: Fully Remote

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Start Date: July 6th

The Cell Tracking Analyst will support a major scientific initiative by reviewing, correcting, and documenting tracking errors in large time‑lapse microscopy datasets of developing tissues and organs. This role uses specialized image‑analysis software to ensure tracking accuracy, maintain detailed documentation, and contribute to continuous improvements in the tracking pipeline. After a deep onboarding period, the role becomes highly autonomous with clear performance metrics and regular feedback from the hiring manager.

• Perform tracking corrections on large time‑lapse microscopy datasets using internal image‑analysis tools
• Document tracking errors including error types, time spent, and patterns observed across datasets
• Support additional projects that use the same tracking and analysis workflow
• Collaborate with the hiring manager through weekly 1:1s during onboarding and monthly syncs afterward
• Incorporate feedback from dataset reviews to improve accuracy and consistency
• Maintain strong communication via Slack and shared documentation channels
• Meet dataset throughput expectations of up to ~3 corrected datasets per week, depending on complexity

• Experience with microscopy image analysis tools such as Napari, ImageJ/Fiji, CellProfiler, or similar
• Ability to identify and correct segmentation/tracking errors in time‑lapse datasets
• Strong documentation skills for tracking error types, time spent, and improvement notes
• High attention to detail and comfort with long, meticulous visual‑QC workflows
• Ability to work independently after onboarding, with minimal supervision

• Hands‑on microscopy imaging experience such as fluorescence, confocal, or time‑lapse
• Familiarity with image‑analysis plugins or extensions
• Experience with biological time‑lapse datasets or developmental biology imaging
• Basic Python familiarity for running QC scripts or reviewing outputs
• Experience with data annotation or QC roles in scientific or imaging contexts
