Audio Technician

Job Description:

The Audio Technician will apply their acoustic test and measurement experience to assist development and perform validation of our state of the art hearing technology. The role involves working at the intersection of audio algorithms (ML and DSP), hardware, and acoustics and is critical for integration and tuning of the algorithms.
The Audio Technician will also support our user studies by setting up the audio equipment to simulate realistic user scenarios in the lab. Thi includes loudspeaker setup and configuration, ambisonic rendering configurations, etc.
More specifically the Audio Technician will work on:
  • Manage and improve spatial acoustic lab
  • Perform high quality audio recordings and measurements
  • Support audio equipment setup and configuration for user studies
  • Assist in spatial audio/visual data collection for machine learning and evaluation
  • Collaborate with audio team and hardware team on acoustic hardware validation for product development
  • Perform and document verification and validation of hearing algorithms for internal use and for meeting FDA requirements
  • Calibrate form factor audio devices
  • Ideally the AUdio Technician can also work on development and automation of audio tests
Minimum qualifications
  • An audio technician with a track record of acoustic measurements and testing
  • Experience with audio and acoustic test setups
  • Strong collaboration skills
 
Nice to have qualifications
  • Python coding skills for audio test automation
  • Experience with psychoacoustics, signal processing, modeling, data science, or machine learning
  • 3+ years industry experience
  • Worked previously with psychoacoustics or hearing products
  • Experience with spatial audio data and ambisonics
  • Experience working with clinical experiments
