Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking for a fully remote Senior ServiceNow Developer to support one of our Government clients. This position is a Permanent, Direct Hire opportunity based out of Northern Virginia. The ideal candidate will have experience using various ITSM modules (ITOM, ITBM, ITAM, SecOps, etc.) as well as CMDB experience.

Position: ServiceNow Developer
Location: Remote – based out of Washington, DC
Terms: Permanent, Direct-Hire
Pay Rate: $180,000 - $190,000
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop custom ServiceNow applications in a fast-paced environment to address urgent diplomatic needs of the Federal Government
  • Assist the team and our clients in the delivery model and supporting ServiceNow initiatives focused on business modernization of the product and its sub-modules
  • Design and Delivery effective business and operating models, ITIL capabilities enabling enterprise ITBM, ITSM, and ITOM implementations
  • Improve customer experience by delivering a cohesive and effective set of solutions through a clear strategy and data-driven delivery model
  • Proactively learn new concepts and technologies in the event analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
  • Be comfortable interacting with senior management, which involves influencing on significant matters along with a consistent team-focused message on direction.
  • Ability to drive and lead conversations in regard to overall objectives with both current and future goals and technologies.
  • A true thought leader willing to both learn, implement, and educate clients on design and changes needed to move forward and expand current ServiceNow ecosystems
  • Forward thinking individual that has a balance of practical hands-on technical experience but is also capable of accurately and convincingly championing organization changing ServiceNow deliverables.
  • Support the development and configuration of ServiceNow in a variety of areas including, but not limited to Service Portal, Change, Problem, Incident, Service Catalog, Knowledge, Release/SDLC, Configuration Management (CMDB), Discovery, Project, Reporting, and SLAs.
  • Identify, create, and execute test cases for ServiceNow and other software platforms including the creation of ServiceNow Automated Test Framework functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members to define, analyze, understand, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Design and develop / configure workflows, forms, scripts, and underlying logic using SCRUM / Agile methodologies.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Develop across the full stack of Web technologies - Java, JavaScript, Angular.js, React, HTML and CSS
  • Configure the Application UI and workflows
  • 3+ years developing/administrative/implementation experience on the ServiceNow platform ITSM/ITOM/ITBM/SecOps solutions (any or all) in an enterprise environment.
  • Advanced JavaScript development skills
  • Advanced HTML development skills
  • Advanced ServiceNow development and architecture skills including creating custom scoped applications
  • Extensive experience developing custom widgets in ServiceNow
  • Experience with JSON
  • Advanced ServiceNow development and architecture skills including creating custom scoped applications
  • Ability to derive architecture that follows best practice from functional requirements
  • Ability to design relational databases following best practice
  • Advanced experience in promoting code up the stack via both application repository and update sets and diagnosing and fixing any errors that may occur.
  • Experience in Service Portal and AngularJS including custom widget development, extension of OOB widgets and utilization of 3rd party libraries within ServiceNow
  • Prefer ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Prefer Service Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Knowledge of ITIL; Foundation level preferred
  • Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Angular JS, Web Services, etc.) and working in a SaaS environment
