Position: Production Control Specialist
Location: Westborough, MA
Rate: $51.70/hr plus benefits
Duration: 10 month contract

Position Description:
Apex Systems has an opportunity for a Production Control Specialist for one of our fortune 500 clients.         
Position Summary
Our client is looking for a Production Control Specialist to develop and manage a comprehensive production control process to support high volume manufacturing and emerging products and technology. The Production Control Specialist will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring on-time production, and coordinating with various departments to achieve operational efficiency and meet customer demands. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of material management processes.

* On Time Delivery / Build Plan Adherence
* Inventory Accuracy
Key job responsibilities
* Engineers all end-to-end Material Flows from supplier receipt to lineside delivery in order to efficiently meet production requirements
* Developing a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to document part numbers, quantities, suppliers, storage locations, part attributes, and replenishment plan
* Establish visual management process for the shop floor to align with the PFEP
* Update customer production spreadsheets to clearly communicate the status of each job/work order and its can-build/ factory clear-to-build status
* Communicate internally any known or potential issues that could affect production or shipments, confer with supervisors, planners, TPMs, procurement and/or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed plan of action and meet schedule commitments.
* Coordinate the schedule, plan, and initial staging of material/kits to all vital areas of production and test.
* Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages
* Control the proper access and consumption of material in manufacturing – custodian of the cash
* Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
* Creating standard operating procedures on defined work paths for material handlers
* Acts as primary contact for matters regarding schedule execution status and can build status based on available inventory
Required Qualifications:
* 3+ years of domain experience in the areas of manufacturing, supply chain operations, or materials management
* Ability to work independently and efficiently on various assignments at once
* Knowledge of Material Resource Planning (MRP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) specifically Oracle EBS, Agile, and Proplanner
* Strong communication skills both within the team and with external stakeholders
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as high attention-to-detail
Preferred Qualifications

  • + APICS cert would be great
  • Strong MRP planning would be great
