Apex Systems is actively hiring for a Lighting Services Engineer role with a Fortune 200 Utilities Client!

This position is designated as hybrid with the requirement that candidates are located in the Montgomery or Prattville, Alabama area.

Position: Lighting Services Engineer
Location: Montgomery, AL
Purpose: This contractor will be overseeing lighting services for a major utilities company.
Experience: 0-5+ years of relatable professional experience in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial engineering.
Hours: M-F, 40 hours per week. Possibility of OT with permission. Limited travel would consist of training, meetings or site visits.
Length of Assignment: long-term contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree Desired - Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Industrial preferred
  • 0-5+ years experience
  • Co-op Experience or SOCO Distribution/Transmission
  • SOCO Lighting Design
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or NESC Specifications a plus

  • Desire to know the "why" behind the "how to do something".
  • Seek to understand tasks, not just "complete" tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Display attention to detail in work completion
  • A valid drivers license
  • Must have a car or truck to use
  • Must be able to endure temperature extremes (Alabama summer and winter temps)
  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrian
  • Must be able to use basic tools - (hammer stakes in the ground)
  • Must have above average computer skills (Microsoft Office, APC priority computer programs)
