Position: Sr Construction Estimator / PM 
Location: Wilmington, NC
Hours: M-F, 40 hours per week
Length of Assignment: Permanent Placement
Apex Systems is seeking a professional/reliable/motivated individual for a full-time permanent position as Project Manager/Estimator at our office located in Wilmington, NC.  MUST HAVE 3D ESTIMATING SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE!
This Position involves estimating projects and the management of site work and utility construction projects and will require the applicant to manage project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications: 
Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Manage numerous projects while simultaneously completing estimating duties, experienced in using Carlson Civil Software and/or Ag-Tek.
  • Manage site superintendents and vendors and subcontractors, ensuring projects are within budget and on time.
  • Primary communicator with project owners and/or engineers.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings with the owner, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Develop a complete and accurate bid proposal including quantity take-off; crew composition; material and subcontractor pricing.
  • Negotiate, secure and manage subcontracts.
  • Compare bid pricing to historical data.
  • Read, outline and communicate specifications and plans for superintendents and foremen.
  • Procure materials and major equipment.
  • Develop and maintain project schedule. Prepare and maintain the project progress and budget.
  • Change order pricing and negotiations.
Required Qualifications:
 The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in site work and utility construction project management. A Construction Management degree is desirable.
  • A record of successfully estimating and managing civil site and utility construction projects
  • Have a working knowledge of means and methods, crew composition and production rates for all aspects of civil site and utility construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Project Standard scheduling software with the ability to adapt to a variety of computer applications.
  • Cost accounting experience preferred.
  • The ability to work with a team and independently to complete projects within stated deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Follow and reinforce company safety policies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be ambitious and self-motivated, with a can-do attitude.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
