Job Description:

Our Financial Client based out of Raleigh, NC is looking for a Senior Level Data Base Architect.
Description: This positions responsibilities include daily production support for the Oracle SQL Server Netezza Postgres and DB2 database infrastructure. These database platforms are maintained on Windows/Linux SQL Server Linux Oracle and Netezza and AIX DB2. Databases are virtualized using VMWare. Environment is 24x7 with over 5000 databases.
This position is also responsible for maintaining and managing the standards documentation backup and recovery design and implementation of the physical data storage virtualization of databases maintenance patching installation capacity planning access security administration vulnerability assessment and protection of data performance and availability data integrity and troubleshooting of all assigned databases.
Qualifications for Database Administrator:
• Preference to individuals focused with a degree in Information Technology core curriculum.
• Preference to individuals who have relevant work-related experience that demonstrates initiative drive and a focus on career fulfillment.
• Ability to work effectively in a global remote workforce environment.
• Experienced understanding of data database technology and structured query languages.
• Solid understanding of relational database constructs with preference to competencies and experience with any three of the following platforms:
Oracle SQL Server DB2 Netezza Postgres
• Practical understanding and awareness of Netezza or comparable data warehouse technology with preference to those with some experience supporting a large enterprise data warehouse in a production environment.
• Bachelor or Associate level degree and a minimum of 4-8 years of work experience as a DBA in an enterprise data center environment OR High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 10 years work experience as a DBA in an enterprise data center environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build databases with proper architectural design.
• Ability to design and implement highly available database solutions using tools such as SQL Server Always On Oracle Data Guard Zerto and disk-based
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve database related technology issues.
• Understanding of database replication technologies.
• Participate in an on-call production support rotation in coordination with our offshore support teams.
