JOB DESCRIPTION
DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING
Reports to: CEO/CSO
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position calls for a highly motivated and organized individual with exceptional communication and sales and marketing skills who will support the CEO in overseeing sales team members, ensuring sales revenues meet or exceed goals, and assisting the CSO in developing and adhering to marketing plans.  This position requires an experienced sales and marketing leader who is well versed in property management with a specific focus in the landscaping and/or snow management industry.
Employer will support Employee’s growth and education to help achieve career goals and to support Company mission. This is an at-will, exempt employee position under Minnesota Law. Exempt Employees are not subject to overtime.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Communication 
•    Monitor, analyze, and report on sales and marketing activity against the company’s goals.
•    Create content that demonstrates the value of professionally managed landscapes to current and future clients.
•    Deliver the Company’s brand story through digital and social media and through presentations to be delivered by our sales and business development team members.
•    Update and develop sales and marketing strategic business plans to drive revenue, increase market share, and upsell services.
•    Assess market potential and participate with management in setting short-and long-terms sales strategies for VPs of Business Development and Inside Sales to secure new business.
•    Build new customer relationships and help to support the team that is responsible for maintaining existing key customer relationships.
•    Be an active member in Company associations and work with VPs of Business Development in the networking with qualified prospects.
Staff Management
•    Coach sales team to identify, qualify, develop, and sell services.
•    Review specifications and contract documentation for all bids and RFPs.
•    Develop and implement strategies for expanding the Company’s customer base. 
•    Work with Human Resources and the CEO to complete annual performance reviews for all sales team members.
•    Work with CEO to develop commission plans and pay increases to incentivize sales goals. 
•    Work with sales team and hold team members accountable in collections.
•    Work with sales team and hold team accountable to exceed quality assurance goals.
Quality
•    Execute best practices in sales and marketing standards. This includes ensuring that Aspire CRM is current.
•    Assist CEO with development and maintenance of the overall revenue growth plan and model ensuring scalability.
•    Implement revenue generating strategic initiatives while ensuring accuracy of sales forecasting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•    8+ years successful sales experience.
•    8+ years landscape operations management experience.
•    Four-year degree or equivalent work experience in the Landscape and/or Snow industry required.
•    Successful background building and managing a sales team.
•    Experience accurately forecasting short-term and long-term sales.
•    Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capability that communicates positivity about the individual and the Company. High degree of competence in administering sales information and communication using CRM.
•    Finance acumen with ability to submit proposals and respond to RFPs that are based on the sound understanding of the Company’s operating budgets and finance.
•    Ability to learn new software applications.
•    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM experience.
•    Solution-selling experience with the ability to tie client issues to product benefit.
•    Maintains active memberships in affiliated professional organizations for networking and marketing purposes.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively present to large audiences.
•    Outstanding presentation capabilities, including excellence with Microsoft PowerPoint and ability to convey executive presence.
•    Completes assigned work in a timely and accurate manner.
•    Demonstrates independent action and resourcefulness on the job.  Performs duties in an acceptable manner and with minimal supervision.
•    Ability to answer or return phone calls and/or e-mails within 1 business day.
