Digitizing customer service by providing 600+ data strategy tasks by augmenting existing project teams with hybrid on-shore and nearshore consultants for a large waste management company 


A brand-new client at the time, was undergoing a digital transformation as part of their Customer Service Digitization and, in the process, needed to rework their data pipeline. With multiple data strategy initiatives underway, they were looking for additional expertise and capacity in several key areas: Snowflake, modeling, enterprise data cataloging and business process analysis. They needed this extra capacity to meet aggressive goals set by upper management up to the Chief Digital Officer.​

610 Sprint Deliverables Completed 


Apex deployed a hybrid on-shore and nearshore team of 12 consultants to embed with the client’s team within two weeks. These consultants included a Snowflake architect, an Informatica EDC Admin, data modelers, and data engineers skilled in Matillion. The workload we completed for the client included 42 unique initiatives. These initiatives were varied in scope and included creating dashboards, building reports, and larger projects like maintaining the client’s public website and establishing governance. As our team was pursuing their objectives, they were iterating on best practices within their workflows to improve productivity. They also provided governance recommendations as part of a comprehensive assessment of practices. Throughout the projects, our team focused on wider scale access to the data within the client’s network and creating a robust stewardship program to drive data quality.​


In total, we were able to deploy a team of over a dozen resources within a very short time frame immediately making an impact on velocity for our new customer.  In addition to rapid onboarding and ramp up, multiple team members were recognized over the more than 3 year engagement at the Leadership level for exceeding expectations and driving key project results.  Our team completed 610 sprint deliverables. Within the same LOB, we were asked to spin up two additional tiger teams to handle very critical and visible specialty projects for capturing and finding a solution to stop reoccurring revenue loss in specific business territories with high yield for our client. ​
