Job Title: Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist 

Position Type: Contracted with potential to go longer term and/or convert later on

Location: ONSITE in Homestead, FL

Expected Shift: 8:00 A.M. -4:30 P.M. – Monday through Friday

Position Overview: This large healthcare company is a primary care provider organization focusing on delivering industry-leading quality of care and affordability to the people in Florida and Texas. They are currently looking for a Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist in Charge to open and manage a new Community/Retail Pharmacy in Homestead, Florida.

Job Description: This position will be patient facing and they are looking for someone who is innovative, flexible, and willing to push the clinical programs we have set up ( MTM, STARS etc.).

Role Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist in Charge shall be responsible for managing all activities performed within the Pharmacy Department including but not limited to clinical, clerical, and technical.  In addition, the manager will assist with the development of new clinical programs and initiatives within the department and for the clinic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

% OF TIME

  1. Accountable for all end-to-end operations of the Pharmacy

  1. Leads and provides direct supervision to a team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Clerks

  1. Accountable for achieving 100% Compliance with State Local and Federal Pharmacy Rules and Regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy

  1. Ensures the accurate interpretation, preparation, and timely dispensing of each prescription or medical device to the ultimate consumer (patient)

  1. Implementing and monitoring strategies for value-based prescription drug utilization

  2. Promote health equity, medication adherence and medication access through patient engagement.

  3. Identify and address gaps in care with the health care team.

  4. Accountable for maintaining appropriate par levels and overall Inventory Control to achieve profitability

  1. Draft and maintain administrative pharmacy policies related to core job responsibilities.

  1. Recruit, Train, Develop, and Retain Pharmacy Talent

  1. Collaborates with Clinicians and Business Partners to drive strategic initiatives

  1. Develop and oversee the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee for the Pharmacy

  1. Responsible for the scheduling of daily assignments for all Pharmacy staff

  1. Responsible for accommodating the provider, patient, or other health care professional with insightful, detailed accurate information about drugs and drug therapies.

  1. Conducts daily audit of point-of-sale transactions to ensure accuracy and promptly addresses any discrepancies with staff

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in the State of Florida

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy

  • 2+ Years Pharmacy Practice Experience

  • 1+ years Retail Pharmacy Management Experience

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio

  • Experience developing and implementing new initiatives

  • Highly effective communicator in oral and written formats.

  • Possesses a high degree of knowledge in storeroom and inventory procedures

  • Highly skilled collaborator, with the ability to influence without authority

  • Demonstrated ability to implement cost savings strategies without sacrificing quality

  • Exceptional Change Management leadership skills

  • Embraces and communicates the company’s mission, vision, values, and departmental goals to all staff

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in the State of Florida
