Senior Data / Wireless Network Analyst

Contract Terms: 6 Months (3x 6 Month Extensions Available) 
Hours: Full Time (37.5 - 40 Hours / week)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 6 Months after Start Date 

Work Location: Hybrid (Consultants must be based in Greater Vancouver, BC)
 
Project Description: 
Project Services department is responsible for delivering a wide range of IT infrastructure projects for the Health Authorities of British Columbia.
Project Services is searching for a Senior Data / Wireless Network Analyst to provide design, estimating, and implementation services for new wireless / wired data networks at Health Care facilities in the Lower Mainland.

Services Required: 
The Senior Data/ Wireless Network Analyst will be responsible for the design, estimate preparation, staging, conformance testing, troubleshooting and implementation of wireless and wired data networks for Health Care facilities in the Lower Mainland.
The scope of activities will also include the following tasks:
  • Design and implementation of high speed network providing a highly reliable and secure network transport service for a large and varied set of clinical and administrative requirements
  • Conduct site assessments / audits of fibre and copper cabling, switching, racking, powering and other supporting infrastructure, as required
  • Preparation of documentation related to the assessment, design, implementation, and operational support for the wireless and wired data networks
  • Provide technical guidance / assistance to the Network resource(s) who will be implementing the new network
  • Assisting with the logical mapping and pre-configuration of the network switches
  • Assist with the preparation and installation of the wireless (WiFi) / data network infrastructure, including the switching, routing and access control infrastructure
  • Developing an understanding of the current Health Care standards related to the network equipment installation / configuration / operations
  • Provide network implementation / production cutover services outside of normal business hours, as required

Specific Qualifications or Experience Required: 

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a university degree or technical diploma in a program, such as Communications Technology, plus related vendor network certifications, and at least eight (8) years of recent wired and wireless data network design, estimate preparation, planning, site assessment, and implementation experience. 
In addition, the successful candidate will have the following experience:
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with current standards and industry best practices required to provide a reliable, high density network, supporting clinical service requirements, administrative requirements, public facing guest networks and third party requirements
  • Experience conducting site assessments / audits of horizontal cable pathways at specific sites
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-grade Cisco / Aruba wireless network hardware
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-grade Cisco or HP data networking hardware
  • Experience in designing and implementing voice grade wireless networks
  • Experience implementing public facing guest networks
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and results-oriented
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Seniority Level Descriptions: 
  •  Senior
    • An absolute minimum of eight (8) years of directly related Consulting Category experience.
    • A Certificate in Consulting Category related disciplines and a minimum of six (6) years of related Consulting Category experience; or
    • A Diploma in Consulting Category related disciplines and a minimum of five (5) years of related Consulting Category experience; or
    • A Degree in Consulting Category related disciplines and a minimum of four (4) years of related Consulting Category experience
