IT Business Analyst – Data Governance Analyst

Position Summary
The successful candidate will assist in advancing Data Governance  by facilitating and enabling data governance roles, processes, policies, and metrics. This position offers the opportunity to work with employees across the enterprise to help them achieve valuable insights by better leveraging data and analytic assets. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Functions as an outcome-oriented enterprise data governance subject matter expert
  • Effectively communicates the importance of data and analytics governance, stewardship, and fluency.
  • Drives initiatives to improve data quality across the organization.
  • Helps the organization establish common stewardship practices, policies, and metrics to manage data and analytics consistently across the enterprise.
  • Supports program adoption and effectiveness across the enterprise, aiding with program metrics and monitoring, program scoping and resource requirements, communication, collaboration, and ideation on improving program efforts.
  • Enables the expansion of data stewardship throughout the enterprise.
  • Provides user training, education, and documentation to support adoption of consistent governance best practices.
  • Partners with business stakeholders on data governance initiatives
  • Engage with business partners and teammates on data governance roadmaps.
  • Oversees the design and deployment of data governance tools and platforms.
  • Stays abreast of best practices and introduces them to the organization.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Purview is a plus.

Skills
  • Data Governance and Data Quality Management: Strong understanding of data quality dimensions, methodologies, and best practices to establish and maintain data quality standards and processes.
  • Data Governance and Metadata Management: Proficiency in data governance and metadata management solutions to enable efficient data discovery, data lineage tracing, and data asset management.
  • Data Governance Frameworks and Policies: Proficiency in implementing and managing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance.
  • Data Governance Tools: Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies that facilitate data management, metadata management, and data governance workflows.
  • Data Stewardship and Governance Metrics: Proficiency in data stewardship practices, including data classification, metadata management, data lineage, and data lifecycle management.
  • Data Strategy Alignment and Data Cataloging: Proficiency in data cataloging tools and metadata management solutions to enable efficient data discovery, data lineage tracing, and data asset management.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter who delivers prompt, efficient quality service and seeks to understand business needs.
  • Ability to engage IT partners and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
  • Ability to clearly define and communicate user requirements with experience in converting business/techno-functional requirements to use cases and/or user stories with acceptance criteria.
