A luxury auto manufacturer leverages our Agile capabilities to develop and release new app-based customer experience features in 30 global markets. 

SITUATION 

Our client, a luxury automobile manufacturer, required a partner to work collaboratively with teams in their current Agile environment to design, develop, and implement application features to enhance customer experience and revenue streams associated with customer after-sales activities in more than 30 markets globally. These features included:  

  • Maintenance and recall notifications 
  • Service Appointment scheduling and booking 
  • Roadside assistance 
  • Vehicle health check 
  • Owners manual 
  • “News” 
  • Customer journey – navigation and trip guidance 
  • In-vehicle applications 
  • Core enabling capabilities – mobile architecture components 

SOLUTION 

We collaborated with the client to understand business and technical requirements for the new features, and provided eight (8) fit-for-purpose Scrum teams including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, UI/UX Designers, QA Testers and Full Stack Developers. The deployed teams completed the following project activities: 

  • Determined product backlog, developed and sized stories, conducted ceremonies and communicated status via JIRA/Confluence based on Agile best practices 
  • Consistently delivered consecutive two-week software development Sprints over an eighteen-month period 
  • Resolved backlog of technical issues and defects  
  • Fully tested and launched newly developed features, functions and enabling capabilities 
  • Provided operational support for applications and architecture, including 24/7 pager coverage 

8 Scrum Teams with 60 People over a Two-Week Launch Period

RESULT 

Both the client and their customers embraced the features developed by our teams, which enhance the end-user experience and help generate additional client revenue. The success of our initial work and integration with their internal teams resulted in the client extending the engagement and adding additional Scrum teams, while relying on our teams to further develop and enhance additional features and capabilities. The client recognized our teams’ attention to detail and quality as they worked diligently to build high quality application features and core capabilities and provide excellent operational support.
