Job Description Summary
Responsible for all store-level operational license acquisition and maintenance. Responsibilities include entering and tracking license data, monitoring due dates, processing annual renewals to maintain licenses in good standing, performing due diligence, and obtaining land use entitlements and licenses for new stores, as well as supporting stores, regions and Global teams on licensing and compliance and other Legal Operations projects.
Job Description
Responsibilities:

  • Gains familiarity with Licensing concepts, practices and methodologies.
  • With guidance, performs Licensing Specialist duties, including:
    • Maintaining store-level operational licenses and permits for assigned company regions in good standing,
    • Monitoring due dates and preparing annual license renewals; checks requests and supporting documents for timely filing,
    • Entering, tracking and maintaining license / permit data using LicenseHQ database,
    • Maintaining Licensing Team electronic files in good working order,
    • Coordinating liquor license fingerprinting, background checks and training for officers and local leaders; obtaining signatures and supporting documents.
  • Assists Team Leader and more senior Team Members on selected licensing projects in assigned regions.
  • Develops progress reports and communicates project status to team leader.
Skills:
  • Basic understanding of licensing and compliance subject area and basic legal, accounting and tax concepts.
  • Basic understanding of correspondence, legal documents and memoranda.
  • Ability to learn and use LicenseHQ database at a proficient level, with training.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and email software at a proficient level.
  • Builds stable working relationships internally.
  • Demonstrates a customer-focused orientation and mindset.
  • Seeks advice when gathering and researching information.
  • Proactively engages with customers, internally and externally, to understand objectives and issues.
  • Familiar with processes to evaluate and interpret routine customer behavior, sales, quality, pricing and other trends
  • Able to create data-specific and informative charts, spreadsheets and reports.
  • Proactively seeks to understand WFM and supported store / region business objectives.
  • Seeks opportunities to gain understanding of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations.
Education & Experience:
