A specialty premium meat processing company leverages Apex's Infor expertise to enhance their production function.

SITUATION

Our client’s legacy costing, financial, and warehouse solutions were no longer able to meet the demands of a growing meat manufacturing organization. In order to improve their business, the leaders needed to be able to efficiently process raw materials, accurately price inventory, and invoice customers quickly. We were selected to help implement a system that would allow our client to automate key aspects of their manufacturing process.

SOLUTION

Our client selected Infor M3 based on the strength of application and industry-specific functionality designed for food and beverage manufacturers. While a mobile scanning application that gives on-the-go employees anytime, anywhere access was part of the appeal in moving to Infor M3, our team of consultants needed to tailor it to meet the client’s unique business-specific requirements. Getting to go-live was an organized, meticulous process that involved our subject matter experts working closely with business users from across our client’s business units.

"[Apex had] the ability to effectively partner, minimize disruption from the impact of change, and get our users comfortable."

-Ops Director

Our team conducted status meetings, created documentation, and adhered to communication best practices to effectively manage change.

RESULTS

As a result of the system we implemented, our client has been able to optimize their production function. They are now able to achieve accurate costing, scan raw materials in and out of the system, and know exactly how they need to price product to maintain profitability. Additionally, improved inventory management has enhanced productivity on the manufacturing floor. Infor M3 modules for automation include inventory handling, scheduling work center operations, and labor time and attendance. Now, instead of lost time spent looking for items, workers have real-time visibility into lot and serialized items across the manufacturing value chain, and greater control over versions, components, and fast-changing product specifications.
